Modern Colours

The common orange “Miniata” has been a gardeners' favourite for over 100 years, and
there are large clumps in many older gardens. ,
often wrongly called nobilis, is also commonly grown.
But it is the variety of new colours that has led to their greatly increased popularity in the
last ten years or so -

deep yellow pale cream orange
apricot red peach
pink pastel green
as well, the centre may be yellow, white or green.

and the flower shape may be semi-open (tulip), flat, or with the petals recurved, or tubular hanging down.
