The Nursery's Reputation
Because of its monetary value, and long period from seed to flower, the Clivia, where ever it is grown (South Africa, Australia, China or Japan) is subject to some dishonest dealing.
Since its inception in 1995, the Nursery has been largely mail order, and now has over 1200 customers Australia wide. Most are repeat customers.
In 2007, Australia's most prestigious garden organisation, “Australia's Open Garden
Scheme” invited the Nursery as “a recognized specialist in high quality plants” to be one
of 35 nurseries taking part in their plant fair in Macedon, (an hour's drive north of
Melbourne). This was repeated in Victoria in 2009 and also at Canberra. This was not
only recognition of the Nursery's integrity, but also acknowledgement of the increasing
popularity of Clivias.
The Nursery is also honoured to supply the seedlings of cultivars to The Diggers Club and to other mail order nurseries. There are also limited numbers of some varieties available at wholesale prices for locality nurseries.
